Tower puts you in the controller's chair high atop a major airport
to choreograph the movement of incoming and outgoing air traffic. Based on FAA
and Transport Canada professional training simulation software, Tower takes
you into a world of authority and responsibility in which the lives of
thousands of passengers depend on your ability to make split-second decisions.
As a tower controller, you handle realistic aircraft takeoffs and landings,
as well as aircraft ground movements through a 360 degree panable
out-the-window view. Runways, taxiways, aprons, flight paths, obstructions,
and airport structures are faithfully depicted from actual FAA information.
Tower is a windows 32 bit application. You can run it in
Win3.1 or better. Installation was a snap on our Win98 machine. The look and
feel of the program is very comfortable so that one can really concentrate on
using the program not setting it up and learning weird keystrokes for days (or
weeks). The sound quality is really nice too.Note: Because of the overall
file size (8.057mb) we elected to break it up into more digestible pieces of
approximately 1.33mb each. All six (6) *.zip files are required.
To install BAO Tower, unzip all files into a temporary directory. Then double click on setup.exe in file manager.
BAO Tower includes
complete instructions.

New Flight Mix for ORD: These
add-on files
change the types of aircraft associated with existing flight
numbers for Chicago O'Hare (ORD) airport in order to more
accurately reflect the airline fleets and aircraft
operations in Chicago. They also eliminate all single-engined
aircraft, and change some existing aircraft names, and "add"
new aircraft for more "realism." The overall effect is to
provide a more accurate "feel," and let the controller
concentrate on pushing Heavies around at the busiest airport
in the world, rather than constantly vectoring lost Cessna
around the sky. From: Thomas Heaney

The ATC-Game is an ATC (Air Traffic
Control) simulation game.
As an Air Traffic Controller you are in
charge of the Terminal Area (TMA) of a medium sized
international airport. The TMA is a volume of airspace which
is the buffer between the airport take off and landing
activity on the one hand and the Airways which are used by
arriving and departing traffic on the other hand. The
Wingsfield TMA is a square of 28 nm extending from the
ground up to 12,000 feet. In the TMA it is your
responsibility to vector the departing traffic to the
appropriate airway and the arriving traffic to the
appropriate runway, maintaining sufficient separation
between aircrafts. Standard minimum separation is 3 nm
(nautical miles) horizontal or 1,000 ft (feet) vertical.
You will actually control the traffic by
issuing clearances. In this you are assisted by the most
recent technological developments in Air Traffic Control
such as a Data Link with all aircrafts and Computer Assisted
Traffic Monitoring (CATM) which are things real world Air
Traffic Controllers can only dream of. DOS (50kb)
Merlin Helicopter Simulator
Your task is to approach the frigate, avoiding the other Merlin
helicopters, and touchdown safely on the landing deck. You start
airborne, with the frigate nearby. You have a time limit of two
minutes to complete the task...
Controls: Cyclic, Collective and Tail
rotor.
The Merlin Helicopter Challenge was
developed for use by the
Royal Navy for recruitment purposes. We gratefully
acknowledge
their permission to release Merlin to the general public. If
you
would like further details on careers in the Royal Navy,
please
contact your local
recruitment office.
You may use either keyboard or joystick or a combination of the two.
