NovaSim v1.1 is a Shareware utility program to design 3D objects for
Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004.
Create macro files in the familiar format for use with scenery design programs such as
Airport for Windows, FS Scenery Creator, FS Architect 2002, GroundMaker, SCC etc.
Import existing models from Nova, with automatic conversion to latest FS2002+ display techniques
Outputs macro files, in API format only as editable ASCII text, ready
for manual tweaking by those familiar with the SCASM programming language.
Includes superb, easy-to-use, methods for producing animated objects,
such as moving doors and gates, service vehicles with moving parts,
rotating radar dishes, 'live' marshallers who guide parking aircraft
with baton signals, etc etc
Uses the latest scenery display techniques introduced in FS2002 to
ensure maximum performance
A big plus, is a familiar interface for previous users of VOD or Nova,
but with many improvements and new features.
SBuilder
-
Scenery Builder is now a shareware program and produces scenery for FS2004 and requires that FS2004 is
installed in the system. The following types of scenery can be created
with Scenery Builder:
·
Mesh Scenery
·
Land and Water Class Scenery
·
Standard and High Resolution · Photo Scenery
·
LWM and VTP Scenery
Exclusion Scenery
·
Object Placement (FS8 and FS9 Library Objects, API and ASD macros and Rwy12 Objects).
SBuilder reads default BGL files (LWM and VTP types) and GIS files (lines, polygons and points of interest).
It has also some other capacities as Re-Projection of Raster or Vector files.
Note: To secure the latestversion, you'll need sb205.zip and the current update sb205rev06.zip.
This tool is under constant development and may well have numerous bugs.
The author would be grateful if you can help in reducing the number of
bugs, by reporting any anomalies. Compatibility with future versions, not guaranteed! - use at your own risk.
Note:SCASM 2.95 beta is required.
SBuilder X
-
Scenery Builder X is now a shareware program and produces scenery for FSX and requires that FSX is
installed in the system. With it you can:
load background images directly into SBuilder from any image server (Ask, Yahoo, MultiMap,
Microsoft Virtual Earth, Google, etc.) with some third-party dlls that are in the public domain;
use background images to automatically make custom (photo-real) ground textures;
create all vector terrain elements;
create FS compliant land and water class;
make old style textured polygons with textures of your choice;
place any FS X or FS 9 style library object, as well as all API and ASD macros;
exclude objects using BGLComp exclusion rectangles;
create windsocks, taxiway signs, place beacons and effects.
The possibilities are innumerable and, as usual with SBuilder, the interface is simple and easy to use.
Note:
At the moment, there is no help file or complete tutorial - all that will come later as soon as there is time.
But, use of the program is not complicated at all and most of the functions work exactly the same as in
SBuilder for FS 9 so its help file is still valid for just about everything.
SCASM contains SCASM (Main program, compiler), This version supports the new FS2004 VTP/LWM terrain extensions.
Hopefully, further study will result in a new SCASM 3.x version in the near future.
Create scenery and airports using this tool, the foundation that other, newer programs are built on. Non-graphical interface.
Note: This is the preliminary version for FS2004. Complete
documentation in sca_html.zip
SceneGenX - This freeware program now builds scenery for FS2004
& FSX using the appropriate BGLComp
compiler supplied by Microsoft. SCASM code is no longer used. The
scenery source code is in a new XML format.
First version with support for FSX!
FSX features added to runways, scenery objects.
Dual compiling capability added so that both FS9 and FSX scenery can be produced.
In testing, the BGLComp compilers are not the same, and the correct compiler must be used for the target system.
Many other changes are needed to get SGX functional for FSX.
This tool is under constant development and may well have numerous bugs.
The author would be grateful if you can help in reducing the number of
bugs, by reporting any anomalies. Compatibility with future versions, not guaranteed! - use at your own risk.
Note: MSXML Installation File (required for BGLComp).
The Scenery Design Engine(SDE) can read FS9 and FSX scenery BGL files generated by Bglcomp. This covers:
Airports (including files generated by AFCAD2)
Waypoints, Boundaries and Geopols
Navigational aids
Scenery Objects including library objects, effects, triggers, windsocks and generic buildings (note limitation that current version
provides very limited support in relation to model data)
Extrusion Bridges (FSX)
Exclusion Rectangles
SDE can also read in XML files created by other tools.
The engine is made available via a simple User interface. Future versions will include graphical interfaces. The resultant information is shown in a tree view of the objects contained in the file. The properties of these objects can be modified using a simple property grid.
SDE can display information about the scenery in the following formats:
XML as used to compile scenery using BglComp
A special XML format used by SDE to store scenery information
When displaying information from a Bgl File
A raw data view showing the location of each piece of information in the file, it's length and hex bytes
A Bgl Format view showing the actual breakdown of data in each object in terms of its description, location, data type and hex bytes.
The program can add, or remove, elements from the scenery tree. It can then compile the resulting scenery into a working FSX bgl file. It does
NOT generate FS9 bgl files although the internal capabilities to do this are present in the engine. This version represents the first public release of the program.
Note:
That if you want to compile scenery using SDE you need to have the FSX SDK. This means you have the deluxe version of FSX. The SDK is not downloadable freely from
Microsoft as it was for FS2004. You can use SDE to examine scenery files without the SDK but you cannot create scenery files.
Updates:SDE contains a built-in function
to check for updates to the application and associated libraries.
"Click Help > Check for Updates". This will
double-check
that you always have the latest update in use.
Note:This tool is under constant development and may well have numerous bugs.
The author would be grateful if you can help in reducing the number of bugs,
by reporting any anomalies. Compatibility with future versions, not guaranteed!

Scenery Shortcut - simple way to create new FSX worlds - Available Now & It's Freeware.
One of our goals was to find an easy way for users to make their own new worlds. So we've come up with a way for you to "drag and drop" your way to new FSX scenery.
By taking advantage of the capable Mission Builders's Object Placement Tool
(included with Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition), you interactively add any of hundreds of predefined 3D objects to the landscape "live". When you've completed the scenery, save the mission file and Scenery Shortcut converts the info into true FSX scenery files.
Once you install the program, you can view the two tutorial videos that will get you up to speed quickly.
Note:you will be asked to register the program prior to download.

Schiratti Control Center is a commercial program, (demo v. 2.04
is no longer available) it can:
Graphically show you the contents of sceneries, runways, coastlines, mountains, buildings, navaids.
Allows you to design your own sceneries and enhance existing ones in a very easy and fast way.
Connect one or more Flight Simulators to one or more SCC and control yourself or your
friends (via TCP/IP connection which works on the Internet as well).
Just like its predecessor it will allow experts and beginners to do a large number of things.

TerraBuilderPRO is a commercial program featuring
a GMAX Mesh Module, a custom GMAX
plug-in capable of creating high-resolution topography and exporting it to TerraBuilder
for processing. The Mesh Module takes full advantage of creating custom landscapes using
the powerful design capabilities of GMAX. This means that GMAX is now available not only
to the Aircraft and 3D object designers, but also to the terrain and landscape designers.
"You can now use a visual-design capability of GMAX to design or fine-tune deep canyons,
sharp mountain peaks, coastal ridges and any other terrain features missed by the coarse and
low-resolution SRTM data generally used in the large-scale terrain projects."

If you already know VOD, then you already know, or almost ......
VODC. You will be now able to build your
objects and structures using only the standard FS colors, so no textures at all. This speeds up the frame
rate for a faster flying scenery design, and a smaller BGL file size as well.

Whisplacer a freeware tool developed to
show how the simconnect API can be used to insert
live scenery objects in FSX. The author decided to make it
a full featured object placer because he felt globally
dissatisfied with SDK's object placement tool
and wanted a tool that can be used remotely on a
second computer.
Whisplacer is an XML object placer with the following features:
TopDown map view
open/save XML files
open/save BGL files (experimental)
Live preview of inserted library objects in FSX
Insert/Edition of beacons, windsocks and effects
See a thumbnail of library objects
